Canadian Rockies// Banff and Jasper National Park

August 2, 2018

Visiting the Canadian Rockies has always been on my bucket list. Well I guess me and 900 gazillion other people and I now know why. This place is utterly breathtaking. We had an easy 4hr direct flight from Montreal to Calgary and then got a rental and drove west straight into the mountains. On our first night we stayed in Canmore, a quintessentially Rockies town just a half hr south of Banff. We couldn’t find a hotel right in Banff…

Charlevoix

June 28, 2018

We had yet another beautiful weekend getaway in the scenic gulf of  Saint Lawrence just 4 hours northeast of Montreal. The region is mostly known for the scenic ski slopes at Le Massif  but there is so much to do here over the summer. Aah where do I start:). Sea kayaking, hiking, horse back riding, paddle boarding, whale watching, it’s outdoor activities heaven. We drove from Montreal to Quebec City along a boring highway, but from Quebec City all the…

Quebec City

January 16, 2018

So we decided to go to Quebec City for our first trip of 2018. The drive was thankfully not too long – a bit under three hours from Montreal – because it’s a bit of a boring drive, nothing scenic. It seemed shorter to me as I got to nap most of the way :-). We spent two days and one night here, a quick weekend getaway, but it was worth it and very beautiful. The city of Quebec is…

TANZANIA YANGU // MY TANZANIA

December 5, 2017

So this is my story, up close, personal and under the magnifying glass. I left home just before I turned 20 to attend college in America. It was a  very emotional event for me and my family, a young and naive lil’ girl  going to a far away land alone. My parents were very hesitant about this decision but supported me anyways and I will forever be grateful to them. Living in America was a huge culture shock in the…

Under the Arabian sun //Abu Dhabi & Dubai

November 27, 2017

This November we spent a week in the Emirates and  I must say, this trip was a definitely one for several books. After a long 13hrs flight from Montreal via Frankfurt we arrived in Abu Dhabi in style. We were met at the gate by our hotel concierge  who wisked us through customs and then put us into a BMW 740i with our driver for the trip to the hotel. I thought “HOLLYY COWW” as we pulled into our hotel,…

Lovely Weekend in HOTLANTA

October 4, 2017

So this past weekend we took a short trip to spend time with our friends in Roswell, a quaint suburb 20min north of Atlanta. We had a quite few things on our itinerary: Stone mountain, the CNN Center, Coca Cola museum and the Georgia aquarium.  For many good reasons we could only fit in the aquarium and Coca Cola museum, as we also wanted to spend time with our friends in their area and check out all the good work…

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day // Shakespeare

September 24, 2017

Who doesn’t love summer? Summer is (no surprise) my favourite season of the year. It’s delightful, the warmth and lightness banishing the cold and darkness, everything is better over the summer(well, most things). It’s no wonder William Shakespeare compared youth and beauty to a beautiful summer’s day. In youth, like summer, the possibilities are endless. And for me, this summer  was the best one yet.  I feel very grateful and blessed to have my love alongside me to sake my…

California Dreamin’

August 4, 2017

Beautiful weather, sea breezes, sunshine, sandy beaches and palm trees. It’s CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’ babyyyy. Follow my blog with Bloglovin So last year we visited Northern California, San Francisco and the surrounding Bay area. This time around we decided to visit Southern California or as the locals call it SoCal.  I must say, the vibe is completely different down in SoCal compared to NoCal. The SoCal vibe is more chill and the weather is always nice. I bet the weatherman  has…

Island Vibes in Vieques

June 24, 2017

Hellooo Island hoppers here 🙂 So from the main island of Puerto Rico we hopped over to the small neighbouring island of Vieques. It’s a quick half hour ride on a small prop plane, which I must say is not for the faint hearted.  Consider the ferry if you have a fear of flying! Vieques is a beauty of its own. Serene  torqouise beaches and majestic green mountains. We were in a lil piece of paradise with the Atlantic ocean on the north…

Despacito in Puerto Rico

June 20, 2017

Hola!! Como estas! That’s all the Spanish I could learn in my two days in San Juan. This beautiful old town is only 3.5hrs on a direct flight from New York City. I  went from gloomy to sunshine in paradise real quick. Soon after dropping my luggage at the hotel I “ubered “over to Old San Juan for lunch at Cafe Puerto Rico where I had a delicious mofongo and Pina Colada cocktails obviously. I also made a visit at Castillo…
